I was born the 9th of October 1941 in a city called Pula which is now in Croatia. We left in 1946,
before Pula became part of the Communist Yugoslavia, went to Taranto in Italy where we lived for
a few years and then we migrated to Australia, arriving in March the 14th 1951 at Port Melbourne.
From there they took us to Bonegilla Migrant Camp where we stayed for 6 months. After that,
we moved on to Cowra in NSW first and finally to Melbourne and lived in South Melbourne.
Mum and Dad bought a home. I went to St. Peter and Paul’s parish school in South Melbourne until
grade 8 and continued in CBC St. Kilda where I graduated.
I started working in Victorian Railways in 1959.
